Packaging & Shipping Testing

Shipping containers are exposed to various vibration stresses when subjected to the many conditions present when transported from Point “A” to Point “B.” Vibration conditions can include standard vibration to repetitive shock conditions. At Environment Associates, we can perform all ASTM/ISTA requirements for vibration with our servo-hydraulic equipment, electro-dynamic, or fixed-displacement, rotational vibration equipment for performing tests on a single package or palletized loads. Because of our capabilities in handling large size and heavy weight containers of any material or design, EA provides its customers with the most flexibility in performing any of the test methods required, according to ASTM D999.

Environment Associates provides any type of environmental cycling/atmospheric conditioning prior to, or in conjunction with, any performance test to your packaging—in accordance with ISTA procedures or other pre-conditioning requirements. These pre-conditions can include temperature cycling, humidity cycling, and altitude conditioning.

EA can handle almost any size container or multiple containers with our large, walk-in chambers.

Incline Impact tests duplicate the jolting impacts your product or palletized loads may experience in the distribution environment—sudden truck starts and stops or loading and unloading. Loads weighing up to and exceeding 150 lbs. (68 kg) are slammed against a solid barrier. Tests are performed according to ISTA standards.
